I'm Gonna Do Better!
I know, I know. All my loyal bloggity readers are wondering what's happened to Laura Lee. You're addicted....just admit it!
Let's just say that life's been busy lately. It's always busy, but ya' know.... Lots going on. And I just haven't taken the time to keep the blog updated like I want to.
I promise I'll be back more regularly....with musings, recipes, summer fun pics, etc. I'm sure you'll now be riveted to your computers in gleeful anticipation.....
So to start back, I wanted to show you the quilt I finally finished yesterday. You may remember that I started this one back a few months ago, during one of my A.D.D. quilting sprees. This one was fun to make. I love the combination of applique and pieced blocks. And the colors! Whew, I love these colors. I'm calling this one "Flowers in the Candy Dish." I thought of that name and it just stuck. All the fabrics are florals and the colors just remind me of candy. So it fits.
This was my first attempt at a scalloped border. I've admired this type border on other quilts forever. I just never had the nerve to try it myself. Really, it wasn't difficult to do at all, once I figured out how to make the template. Sewing the binding on at the end was a bit tricky, but not a huge big deal. It did take a while though, going around all the curves.
I'm putting this quilt on the wall in my new sewing room. Photos of that room to come soon. Finally, a dedicated sewing room....now that's a dream come true. Below are some coordinating pillows I made for the bed.
Have a great weekend! We're going to a wedding tomorrow. Love, Love, Love weddings! And this one is a VERY special young lady and gentleman, so I can't wait.
Stay cool!
Love,
Laura Lee
